Clyde and Noah after a hard day of DXing

The way it was (once upon a time)

My QSL Manager

I got interested in ham radio at about the age of 10 (a very long time ago). My vanity call sign was my Elmer's. His name was Neil Taylor and he was very active on AM and CW from the early 1950's through the mid 1960's. He was active in Army MARS (AØWSP) and spent many hours handling MARSgrams and running phone patches for our military personnel.  I figured that anyone that would take the time to answer endless questions from a 10 year old deserved some kind of recognition.

I continue to be a member of the Black Hills ARC and the Northern Hills ARC in western South Dakota. I am now a member of the Wilson County ARC in TN and the Mammoth Cave ARC and Southern Kentucky Amateur Transmitting Society in KY.  I am an ARRL accredited VE and have been helping with tests in TN and KY.  I am also an ARRL Field Examiner and Instructor.

My station includes an IC-756PRO II, Ameritron AL-811H, Palstar AT2K, and a Butternut HF-2V 80M/40M vertical with 72 radials 70' in length. Now that I have a larger lot, I have erected a 160 M inverted V about 45' in height. I also have a Butternut HF-9V that I use for 20-17-15-12-10.   I am active on 2 meters and 70 cm with a Kenwood  TM-D700  and a Comet MP-15.  Everything is powered by an Astron RM-60M PS.

OA4SS was my 100th  and TX7M was my 200th confirmed DXCC entity on phone (213 worked/208 confirmed).  V26F was number 100 on 20M, 7X4AN was number 100 on 40M, VP2V/KN5H was number 100 on 15M, and TG9ANF was number 100 on 10M.  The last new entity worked was TN2T (Congo) on 12M.  The last few confirmed were TU2T, VP6T, 3XY1D, T32C,3D2R, ZK2V, DV1JM, TX7M, ST0R, and A25FC,  Who turns around QSL cards the quickest?  Allis, OZ1ACB, QSL manager for OX2A.  From contact to card in hand - 12 days! Second place, Alfons, QSL manager for V55V, 13 Days, third place, Salvador, C31CT, 14 days!

I operate HF mobile and portable with an ICOM IC-7000, LDG AT-200 Pro antenna tuner, and Hamsticks or inverted vees for antennas. I also have a Kenwood TM-D710 dual bander running APRS. If you want to know where I am, go to findu.com and enter w0wsp-2.
